Giving back

At 黑料视频 we encourage every student and family to share the belief that through giving we can make a significant difference to the lives of others. It is part of the fabric of the 黑料视频 community and is connected to our core values of kindness, respect and responsibility.

There are many ways the 黑料视频 community gives support whether it be donating time, money or skills to help others.

Local action

As part of our holistic education program, students are required to engage in community service. They lead charity appeals for local and national charities like Zonta International, the Red Cross and Save the Children and give of their time to help with events like the Five Lands Walk, Salvation Army Winter appeal and assist with Sunday lunch for the homeless.

Each year, students in Years 9 and 10 take a leadership role in supporting local organisations either through donation drives, giving of time or raising funds.

Students are encouraged to have agency and voice. Many successful actions have been initiated by students. The Environmental Action Group encourage student action for Clean Up Australia Day and looks for creative ways to reduce our environmental impact across the school and our lives.

Global citizenship

The school has a longstanding history, raising money and traveling annually to build houses in Cambodia as part of our Cambodia Service Program. Over the years relationships have developed with Cambodian organisations like Sunrise Children's Villages and AllKids that have resulted in funding equipment and welcoming Cambodian students and teachers on study tours to 黑料视频. In 2023, 34 students visited Cambodia to build new houses to aid disadvantaged families. 黑料视频 is sponsoring four Cambodian students to study and be part of our community for a short stay.

Students also respond to the impact of significant events and lean in to help. The student-led Amnesty International group run Jamnesty where musicians perform for a cause like supporting Ukranian refugees. During the bushfires, 黑料视频 ran Bands for the Bush to support local communities impacted by fires, books were collected to provide to schools impacted by the Lismore floods in 2022 and more recently a Valentine's Day appeal raised funds for victims of the T眉rkiye-Syria earthquakes.
